Dance Decorations, Name Boxes, Coat of Arms

Hey everyone, just an update on current Art Dept. happenings. We finished our foray into block printing with 7th and 8th grade and used our blocks to create banners for the dance on the 14th. We also have some great giant snowflakes, thanks to the 8th grade B block and some cute 3-d pine trees and snowmen, thanks to 8th grade A block.

The 6th grade classes are waiting to glaze their clay projects and have started to make name boxes. ( 3-d papier mache boxes in the shape of a name) Next week we will be glazing and mache-ing...it's going to be fun and messy! The 8th grade classes have started to draw coat of arms, and I have to say they are really utilizing the heraldic language and coming up with some great ideas!

Mrs. Carl's class got inspired by "Elf'" this week and will

be making elf hats and ornaments!
